Internal Competition

On joining Heathfield each child becomes a member of one of the four "teams". Pupils have the opportunity as early as Infant Sports Day to gain points in individual and team events which count towards the Annual Inter-Team Trophy. The School also has a number of cups and prizes for individual competition and achievements.

Swimming

Swimming lessons are included for all Years, from Nursery to Year 6, each Year receiving a weekly 40-minute session in our own pool located on site. Whilst the aim is to produce competent swimmers with good technique, we also encourage our pupils to attain targets by entering the ASA awards and, in Years 3,4,5 and 6, by swimming for the school team.

Links with Rishworth

In a number of instances both schools attend the same fixtures together. Specialist coaching staff from Rishworth are involved at Heathfield and vice versa.

Excellent continuity is provided from Heathfield to Rishworth in that the pupils will already know the PE staff and the standards required to perform at the levels set by the senior school. Keen and competent senior students from Rishworth sometimes assist in the lessons at Heathfield.
